The President of the Republic, General Joseph Aoun, received at Baabda Palace Speaker of Parliament Nabih Berri and discussed with him the general situation locally and regionally and the situation in the south in light of the continued Israeli attacks on southern villages and towns, especially the bombing and bulldozing of homes, and the necessity of stopping these hostile practices. President Aoun briefed Berri on the results of his visit to the United States of America and the conversations he held with American officials, led by US President Donald Trump and Foreign Minister Marco Rubio. When Berri left the palace, he said that the discussion covered the President of the Republic’s visit to Washington and the situation in the south, and that, as usual, he was satisfied with the meeting.
